Star Panel Metal Roofing

Our Star Panel Profile has a 36 inch coverage with a full 29 gauge thickness. Our Star Panels can be installed over an open purlin system, or a solid substrate. They can be used for exterior and interior applications. They are precisely formed with clean, distinct lines. They are intricately designed with a five degree over-bend on the overlap, combined with an anti-siphon groove on the underlap for superior weather tightness. This design also creates a less noticeable overlap, resulting in a more beautiful application.

The Ceranamel™ XT-40S coil coating finishes provide a new level of Long Term Exterior performance for building product applications. The Ceranamel™ XT-40S Series is formulated with a Proprietary Super Durable Polyester resin which provides superior resistance to chalking, fading and environmental weathering. The Ceranamel™ XT-40s system also uses only the highest quality Exterior Grade and Cool Pigmentation to insure the best available long term high U.V. radiation color and gloss retention.

The Long Term exterior weathering performance makes Ceranamel™ XT-40S coatings your cost effective choice for Commercial, Monumental and Residential applications. Ideal for use on all Building Components especially Roof and Side panels, Soffit, Fascia, etc. The improved coating hardness and abrasion resistance make it a perfect choice for roof tile and shingle applications.

Available in a wide variety of standard and custom colors, an efficient custom color matching process provides quick delivery of special colors to meet customer needs. Ceranamel™ XT-40S finishes are designed for application to primed Hot Dipped Galvanized, Zinc-Aluminum Alloy Steel (i.e. Zincalume®, Galvalume®), Cold Rooled Steel and Aluminum substrates.

The Ceranamel™ XT-40S Series is a Custom Warranted coating system designed to be applied as two-coat primed/finish system. Use of the DC477 Global Primer imparts exceptional physical properties and corrosion protection. Our Backer completes the system and provides excellent “wet stack” corrosion protection and its internal lubricants assist roll forming.

The Ceranamel™ XT-40S Series is available in cool pigmentations to meet minimum solar reflectance requirements for Energy Star approval criteria.

40 Year Limited Warranty

North Star Metals Inc. (NSMI) warrants that the XT-40 Super Durable SMP Coil Coating Systems, Energy Star approved with cool pigments, in accordance with Dura Coat Products Inc. application and product data sheet, will not under normal atmospheric conditions:

1. 1. Chip, crack or peel for a period of (40) forty years from date of sale.

 

1. 1. Chalk in excess of a numerical rating of (8) for a period of (30) thirty years from date of installation when measured in accordance with the standard procedures outlined in ASTM D-659 on vertical (sidewall). On horizontal application (roofing), chalk will not exceed a numerical rating of (6).

 

1. 1. Fade or change color in excess of (5) E units for a period of (30) years from the date of purchase on vertical (sidewall) and (7) E units for horizontal (roofing) application when calculated in accordance with ASTM D-2244. The color change is to be measured on exposed painted surface cleaned of surface oils and oxidation. In addition, labor costs to re-coat a field failure will be included.

 

1. Coverage is warranted against red rust for a period of (10) years, no greater than one half inch from cut edge.

​This warranty is restricted to failures resulting from normal weathering, and does not include failures caused by scratches, scrapes, improper handling, storage, or any unnatural damage. NSMI accepts no responsibility for damages caused by acts of God, radiation, falling objects, explosions or other external forces beyond NSMI’s control.

​This warranty excludes failures caused by improper installation including but not limited to improper or inadequate or application of fasteners, trim and accessories.

​This warranty excludes failures caused by standing water, and direct exposure to corrosive and aggressive atmospheres including animal waste products. Applications exposed to salt spray within 1500 feet of seacoast must be maintained by washing with fresh water at least biannually and documentation of this maintenance upon request.

​NSMI responsibility extends only to the direct cost of refinishing or replacing failed coated substrate. NSMI cannot accept liability for loss or damage to other property or equipment, loss of profits or sales, or any other claims relative to standard business interruption, or any other incidental or consequential damages.

​NSMI reserves the right to establish whether repainting or replacing the material is required, and to approve and participate in the negotiation of any substrate material replacement, installation, or refinishing. After replacement or refinishing of repaired area, this area will be considered as installed as of the original installation date for the purpose and application of this warranty.

​Claims of this warranty must be submitted in writing within forty-five (45) days of discovery of the warranted performance failure, and NSMI requires the opportunity for site failure inspection and investigation. NSMI also reserves the right to solely evaluate and determine its obligation under the terms and conditions of this warranty.

​The company seeking the warrant shall maintain, or have access to adequate records to identify the coil numbers, product identification, date of purchase, and date of installation. In event of a claim, NSMI reserves the right to inspect all records mentioned above and will assume no responsibility without the above mentioned records.

​This limited warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
